Yesterday I was beyond excited to hear short stories and poems from some extremely busy people. Even if it's just half an hour, fifteen or ten minutes, remember how important it is to stimulate your mind and tune up your imagination. READY FOR TODAY'S EXERCISE??
STORY ABOUT A COMPELLING STRANGER
Today's exercise is TWO PARTS... The first part should be easy, because I assume we have done it.
Make a point of noticing the people around you each day – people you don’t know. Choose one and write a brief paragraph about why you found that person to be the most fascinating. Try to include...
Write a one-page story about that person. Make the story as compelling and fascinating as the person.
Additional things to consider...
FEEL FREE TO POST HERE, MESSAGE OR CALL ME! I'M CURIOUS TO SEE WHAT PEOPLE COME UP WITH!
In a world ruled by mind control substances there is a very real need to get up and keep your imagination in shape. For this reason I will be posting daily imagination exercises to get those brains into summer shape. So, let's turn on those minds and tune up our imagination a bit. Shall we?
STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS WITH MUSIC
Choose a piece of INSTRUMENTAL music. Let your imagination take you anywhere it wants to go. Write down the images you see as they appear (item, scene, character, etc...) ** Just let your imagination go, and write down what you see. Try not to think!
Then, based on what you see, expand on it and write a 1-page story. Try to include: Character (or characters), character’s emotional state, character’s behavior/action, setting, sights, sounds, smells, mood and anything else you see that paints a vivid picture or emotional feeling.
1. Choose a piece of instrumental music that elicits strong visuals and emotions.
2. Write down what you see and feel when you listen to the music.
3. Use your list of images and feelings to create a one-page story.
4. Really paint the picture so we can see it.
GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN!
